You will walk along the streets of the ancient Herculaneum, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which was buried during the devastating eruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD, starting from the beach, the site of the discovery of many finds, even human, having been one of the places of escape of the population.
Following the main road you will enter the heart of the Roman city through the walls, where you can observe details of the ancient Herculaneum perfectly preserved such as: wooden stairs, interior of the domus or Roman houses, workshops with elegant marble decorations, environments of everyday life with intact walls adorned with paintings and mosaics made with lavish golden tiles!
Together with your local guide you will visit the gymnasium and enter one of the ancient spa complexes of the city learning anecdotes, stories and the important role it played in Roman society.
It will not be a usual guided tour because, thanks to the presence of a true Archaeologist, you will understand the whole process of rediscovering the finds of the city and how the future developments of a very important casket of Campania history will evolve.
The tour will end with a visit to a Roman boat found charred following the eruption and some unique finds discovered by experts during the last excavations of the 80s.
