A local tourist guide will take you to discover Cairano, a small village with less than 300 souls, perched on a hill that looks like it was planted on a meteorite. To this magical place Vinicio Capossela dedicated a book and a film, "The Land of Coppolons".
Along the way you will visit ancient wineries and through alleys that tell the story of the village with evocative testimonies and anecdotes that will be told, such as the history of the picturesque Via delle Grotte, unique in Campania, which hides authentic necropolis.
The visit will continue through the theater in the center of the village and then reach the cliff, the highest point of Cairano, where you can enjoy the breathtaking view of the Ofanto Valley and the Apennine chain of the Picentini Mountains. A particularity to note and that in the days of wind plays the masterful pipe organ, unique in the world, which leaves room for a deep meditation.
Returning to the path we head towards the starting point, but not before having made a stop at the Di Biasi gardens, full of ideas and original details, and have known one of the historical pillars of Cairano: the bartender "Zi Ngiulino".
The experience comes alive with a Cooking Class conducted by the inhabitants of the village, where between stories and anecdotes, they prepare the dishes of the local tradition and discover the secrets of the culinary art of Cairanese. At the end of the workshop, you can have lunch with the dishes prepared under the guide of the cooks in a familiar and convivial atmosphere.
Please note that in case of adverse weather conditions, the experience can be cancelled 24 hours before departure.
